August was a great month for RnB because a couple of RnB divas from back in the day made a comeback with solid projects. To be honest, they are all keeping up and they really are competing with the youngins really hard but also putting them on which is really essential.

Brandy dropped her album, ‘B7’ around the very first week of August. ‘B7’ was us getting into Brandy’s diary. She gave us a solid project speaking on her depression, bipolar and at the same time empowering women. Good sis came through with the vocals on every song on the album really hard. Brandy reminded us why she ruled the RnB charts because her writing and her delivery were amazing on this album.

On the last week of August, Toni Braxton dropped her new album dubbed ‘Spell my Name’ and you should come correct with how you spell Toni’s name. Toni Braxton is serving us vocals, ballads, disco tunes and putting us on that new-new with the likes of H.E.R. Toni Braxton is reminding us that she was the strong voice behind some of the greatest and timeless songs we have in the RnB histories. ‘Spell My Name’ is definitely a great follow-up album from her last collaborative project with BabyFace.

To close off the month of August, the Verzuz team is giving us the RnB battle of the century; Monica Vz. Brandy and if you are not staying up for this, you definitely don’t know the royalty that this battle is.

August has been a great month for RnB lovers courtesy of the RnB divas making a comeback in the game with solid projects.
