Tiwa Savage Pays Homage To Her Mum In New Album 'Celia' (Now Out)

'African bad girl' Tiwa Savage now officially has three albums to her name.
The latest album titled 'Celia' was dropped early on Friday, August 28 and houses 12 tracks.
Mid this week, Tiwa Savage unveiled the official album cover for 'Celia' which had two women, one of them looked like her and the other, who was bigger in the album cover, it now emerge it was her mother.
In an interview with Apple Music on the day of premier of the album, Tiwa Savage revealed that the album name is actually the name of her mother.
She noted that the album pays homage to her mother even as the songs speaks to a a modern African woman who still values her culture but is also exposed to the changing dynamics in the world.
"Celia is my mum’s name and I wanted to pay homage to her. She embodies everything that this album is," noted Tiw Savage in the interview.
"It speaks to a strong, modern African woman. This album is Afrobeats from a very female perspective. It’s an extension of the African woman: she still values her culture and her upbringing, but she’s also well-travelled, so it’s blending those two worlds. I want every woman that listens to this to feel attached and connect to it," she added.
In the new album, Tiwa Savage has featured six different artists from across the globe among them English singer and songwriter Sam Smith, British rapper, singer, and songwriter Stefflon Don, young R&B singer Hamzaa as well as Nigerian singers Davido, Dice Alies and Naira Marley.
The multiple award-winning singer and actress had dropped three songs before the whole album was officially released. Songs that were released earlier are 'Dangerous Love' and 'Koroba' both of which have visuals and the most recent one Temptation featuring Sam Smith.
