Iryn Namubiru Narrates How She Navigated Male Dominated Ugandan Music Industry

The ratio of male to female musicians in the Ugandan is music industry in un-proportional, with male artistes dominating the industry.
However, a number of female artistes have been able to cut a niche for themselves in the industry.
One of such artistes is Iryn Namubiru who has had immense contribution to the Ugandan music industry for the over 20 years she has been around.
Speaking during a recent interview, Iryn Namubiru opened up on how she navigated the male dominated industry till she secured a spot at the top.
"When I came to sing, I only came to sing. I did not come to compete and show others that I'm the best, she noted.
According to her, she only focused on her music and did not focus on the male figures besides her.
"Sometimes you leave the door open for people and they know they can get in. If they flirt around, you welcome them. When you positively respond to them, they know they can try it out anytime," Iryn opined.
Some years back, Iryn Namubiru and Juliana Kanyomozi ruled the Ugandan music industry, intimidating most men.
They may have gone through so much hustle but they still managed to make it to the top.
