Ghanaian self acclaimed king of African dancehall Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. popularly known by his stage name as Shatta Wale has warned politicians against using his, name, brand or picture in their political campaigns ahead of the upcoming general elections in December 2020.

Shatta Wale, who is known for to be a lover of politics and once composed two major hit songs for the NPP and NDC political parties in the 2016 elections, seems to have taken a different turn this election year, as he has kept silent the whole year despite endorsing President Akufo-Addo earlier in an interview.

The “Taking Over” hitmaker has always been known to be a big supporter of NDC because of his father’s association. Nevertheless, Shatta Wale is also president Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo favorite person, hence he is unable to decide on the side to support. Taking to his twitter handle, the award winning artiste wrote: “Moving forward..no one should use my picture or my brand on any political campaign or platforms . Myself and my loyal fans will support and cooperate with any person who Ghanaians elect as their president.”

Nonetheless, the artiste may be having his own reasons that have pushed him to settle for his current decision not to allow politicians to use his brand in their political campaigns.
