MzBel Arrested For Spreading Fake News

Controversial songstress Mzbel was arrested yesterday on 24th August 2020 by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command for spreading fake news about Stacey Amoateng, a Ghanaian TV personality.
Mzbel is reported to spread the news that TV personality Stacey Amoateng had tested positive for the HIV virus. According the report by adomonline.com; "Stacy Amoateng, reported the controversial musician to the police Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service for defamation of character," The Website indicated. The news has been backed by another similar report from DSP Juliana Obeng who confirmed the news to Adom News.
“Mzbel came to the CID headquarters on her own but she was officially arrested and cautioned,” Ms Obeng told Accra-based Adom TV.
The Public Relations Officer of the CID, DSP Juliana Obeng, further added that the ‘One More Time’ hitmaker had been warned on Section 208 of the Criminal Code, that says: “Any person who publishes or reproduces any statement, rumour or report which is likely to cause fear and alarm to the public or to disturb the public peace knowing or having reason to believe that the statement, rumour or report is false is guilty of a misdemeanour.”
The Ghanaian artiste admitted the accusation and was released on bail and is expected to visit the CID offices again, for further questioning.
