Grandpa’s launch last night becomes talk of the town

There are not enough words I can use to describe Grandpa Records reign in the industry currently, and it seems that no matter what, they will always have something up their sleeve and turn it to a hit.

Yesterday the label held the launch of former TPF 4 contestant Prudence’s new song at Tribeka in town. The energy and reception that followed the song was purely infectious and definitely worthwhile.

The launch was hosted by Fundi Frank and Willy M Tuva and the song I have to say from my immediate response will be the next girl anthem in town.

Titled ‘Wale Wale’ it features Grandpa’s top female rapper Pizo Dizo and speaking to Prudence on phone she was able to open up on how the song came about.

“Initially I came up with the concept but we thought of a way of making it more relatable by writing lyrics about what people go through and ‘Wale Wale’ came up,” she said.

Prudence who released her first song back in 2011 says she has experienced growth over the years and is ready to take the music scene by storm.

“At the beginning of my career I was more into afro-fusion and soft music but with time I have realized Kenyans love music they can dance to and that’s why in my new single I have included this element. I still maintain my initial style just with more energy,” she added.
