Mwana FA Cleared to Contest Muheza Parliamentary seat

Tanzanian rapper Mwana FA has officially joined politics ahead of the upcoming general elections later this year.
On Thursday, Mwana FA became the official flag bearer for the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party in the Muheza constituency parliamentary race.
“The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has nominated Hamis Mwinjuma alias Mwana FA to vie for Muheza Parliamentary seat,” read a statement from the party.
A host of Tanzania celebrities took to their social media platforms congratulating Mwana FA for the achievement.
“Woooyoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I’m extremely proud Alhamdulillah .... now let’s go get em my brother, “ posted Maua Sama.
“Mkweeeeeeee hongera sana!!!! MBUNGE WETU MPYA!!!! MUHEZA Hakikisheni anapita kwa Kishindo,” posted Nandy.
The rapper joins a host of Tanzanian musicians who have crossed over to politics.
In the upcoming October elections, Diamond Platnumz’s manager Babu Tale will also be contesting for a parliamentary seat.
The musicians join their colleagues like Prof Jay who is an elected member of parliament in Tanzania.
With the CCM nomination, Mwana FA has a high chance of clinching the seat based on the party’s popularity in the country.
