Blaqbonez To Drop 'Something For The Fans'

Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, known professionally as Blaqbonez has hinted that he will be dropping a new song this week.

The rapper signed to 100 Crowns, an imprint of Chocolate City posted a tweet noting that he had something for his fabs.

Blaqbonez who in 2019 was profiled by The New York Times as one of the new guards of Nigerian music also admitted that he had kept is fans waiting for a new song for far too long.

The last project that he released was about 5 months ago titled 'Haba'. Since then, he has been popularizing the song all over his social media platforms.

It looks like the long wait for his fan is over with the latest announcement.

"by the way I’m dropping something for the fans on Friday, sorry for the wait," read a post on his official Twitter handle.

Blaqbonez however said the new song will not be his official single, a statement that has left many confused.

"its not the official single, but I couldn’t just leave you guys with nothing while i get my shit together," he noted in the same thread.

Blaqbonez is widely known for his controversial self-proclaimed status as the "Best Rapper in Africa" (abbreviated as "BRIA"), which became the most talked about topic in the Nigerian hip hop space between July and September 2019.

Born on 29 January 1996, to an Igbo family and grew up, exposed to the Yoruba and Urhobo culture in Nigeria, Blaqbonez was 13 years old when he discovered he could rap, and his journey into music was a result of happenstance.

A video for 'Haba', Blaqbonez most recent project was posted on YouTube on March and to date it has over 222k views.
