Throwback Artist: 'Bambika' hit maker, Shanky Radics

Dancehall / Pop artiste Shanky Radics is undeniably one of the few Kenyan artists who has been able to appeal to large number of audiences all over East Africa, especially with the release of his hit single, 'Bambika'.

"I started doing music at the tender age of 11 years back in primary school and my passion for music started growing stronger and stronger when I was pursuing my O – Level studies"

During his teenage years, he used to visit clubs such as Florida, Kengele’s, Zigzag and New York in Nairobi city to participate in their music competitions. In 1998 and 1999, he managed a battle out MCs at Florida and won “The Best Dance Hall Artiste” title.

In the year 2000, he met Redsan, Lyrical Erico and Kidush, together they formed a group popularly known as One 11 Moja, and they managed to record some dancehall hits such as Mabeste, Chakacha, Amanda and Omuhana. The songs were recorded at Sync Sounds (The studios that brought up artistes such as Hardstone, Kalamashaka and Shad 0 Blak). He performed with the group for two years before they parting ways.

He has done several collaborations with Ugandan multitalented artiste Jose Chameleon and Shanks Vividie in a song called 'Number One'. Back in 2004, he collaborated with Bombshell and came up with biggest dancehall song in the country 'Bambika'. Bambika’s video received massive air play across East and Central Africa which was enormous boost to his music career.
