Song Review: Visanga by Bahati
19 August 2014
Inspired by some of the events that we currently see unfolding each day in our country, Bahati's new single, Visanga, which was directed by Young Wallace, echoes what most Kenyans have now adapted to be the norm.

The video opens with Bahati doing a monologue on an acoustic guitar in an unlit room swiftly transitioning into a family sitting on a couch infront of a television set; the news bulleting kicks in and as the news anchor proceeds to share the news, everything is nothing but negative news from tribalism to war to religious turmoil which is an immediate reflection of what most families go through each day.

Bahati then proceeds to solenmly sing the chorus stating his prayer by sharing " God we place ourselves in your hands because our tears have become our daily bread"
'Visanga' is the second official single off Bahati's debut album 'Barua Za Bahati', which was released last week and speaking to him a while back he shared that this new single was of essential meaning to him
" This song is a national prayer for the country, we have been through so much as a country and i just wanted to say a prayer to God for my country'
