DJ Cuppy Opens Up On Inspiration Behind Her Recent Hit Song 'Jollof On The Jet'

Popular Nigerian disc jockey DJ Cuppy has opened the lid on the behind-the-scenes that led to the creation of a hit single 'Jollof On The Jet'.

DJ Cuppy recently released the single, her first off the upcoming debut album titled 'Original Copy'.

In the new song, DJ Cuppy enlists the services of Marvin Records golden boy Rema and Bongo's Rayvanny.

The song has so far performed well on various digital platforms and was ranked among the most-streamed new songs on Audiomack.

In an interview with News Blitz which was shared on her Twitter handle, DJ Cuppy explains that the song came as a result of a plane trip in which she ate Jollof rice.

She noted that she explained the experience to her producer who instantly came up with the beat.

The beat and story idea was also shared by Rema who loved it.

'Jollof On The Jet' is produced by Killertunes.

"This song was inspired by a trip on a plane where I was literally eating jollof rice. When I got back to Lagos, I shared the expery to my Producer and explained to him this ideas Killertunes had an amazing beat," noted DJ Cuppy.

'Rema heard it and loved it and to add some bongo I brought in Rayvanny," she added.

DJ Cuppy, who recently became the host of ‘Africa Now Radio’ on Apple Music Beats describes the new song as a certified hit banger.

She also says Killertunes has more information on how the track was created.
