DJ Cuppy Signs Contract With Platoon, Says Original Copy Album 'Coming Soon'

Nigerian disc jockey, singer and producer Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola professionally known as DJ Cuppy has signed a contract with London-based record label Platoon.

She also announced that her debut album dubbed 'Original Copy' will be dropping soon.

DJ Cuppy who is the daughter of Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola made the announcement about the contract and new album in posts on her various social media pages on Tuesday.

"Contract SIGNED & SEALED! Proud to join the @WeArePlatoon family as an artist ...My debut Album DELIVERED! #OriginalCopy coming soon!," she tweeted on Tuesday.

"A NEW chapter with sweet music! Cuppy is now a @WeArePlatoon artist!" she added in another tweet.

Speaking after formally signing the deal, DJ Cuppy who grew up in Lagos and moved to London at the age of 13 said her position as an artist has now been cemented following the signing of the deal.

"Signing of Platoon has been one of the proudest moment I think of my career because platoon being my partnerr for music has now made me feel like I've cemented a position as an artist and also made me responsible to create...I feel very special and honoured," DJ Cuppy said in a video shared on Twitter.

Concerning her upcoming album titled Original Copy, the DJ who was ranked among the 2020 top 30 under 30 in Africa by Forbes noted that the she is proud of it.

"I’ve FINALLY made music I’m PROUD of! If you don’t like my new album, I honestly won’t mind... Not everyone has good taste! #OriginalCopy," she said.

"Welcome @cuppymusic to the Platoon fam So glad to announce you have signed with us! We can’t wait for this album to drop & watch you shinee!," noted Platoon in a post on their official Twitter handle.
