Konde Worldwide President Harmonize has urged the National Arts Council of Tanzania (Basata) to find a way of appreciating musicians.
The ‘Uno’ hit maker pointed out Tanzanian artistes put a lot of effort in their music, but have nothing to show for it other than digital platform subscription.
“Tanzania Music is fun maana tunapimana views YouTube. Ngoma inayotazamwa mara nyingi ndio bora Zaidi…!!!Na tunatembea vifua mbele wenyewe so meens dat ukiwa na subscribers wengi….!You will be champion forever. So wasanii mnaotaka kutoka , msiumize vichwa kuandika ngoma kali. Umizeni vichwa mnapataje subscribers wengi…” reads part of his post.
According to Harmonize, it is sad that artistes struggle to make good music but have to depend on subscription for recognition or as a form of reward.
In another post, he goes on to plead with Basata to develop a platform for recognizing efforts of local artistes, by giving awards to motivate those in the arts and entertainment industry.
“…..Tuzo ni kipimo cha msanii yeyote kujua wapi umelegeza. Ili next ukaza ukikosa….!! Zinakufanya ujitambue na ujue levo yako lakini pia zinatia moyo na hamasa ya kufanya kazi @basata.tanzaniax @harisson mwakyembe,” he posted.
