Back in May, Uganda’s top record label Swangz Avenue confirmed that award-winning American rapper Rick Ross will be performing live in Uganda.

This was cemented when the five-time Grammy nominee recorded a video assuring Ugandans of the show.

DJ Guchy; the events promoter behind the show divulged that they are just waiting for the ban on flights and shows to be lifted.

"Rick Ross is super excited to be coming back to Africa. After his totally sold out concert that happened in Kenya two years ago, he promised Ugandans that he is coming. He is a philanthropist, so he is more than willing to come back to the motherland and throw a mega concert in appreciation to front line health workers who are working tirelessly to flatten the coronavirus curve," Guchy revealed.

The 'Stay Scheming' hit maker also advised upcoming artistes to learn the industry before joining the music business, pointing out team work and hard work as key pointers.

According to the Head of Marketing and Partnerships at CTI Africa David Mihigo, the concert titled 'Uganda Benefit Concert' is a charity event aimed at raising funds for Ugandan health workers and thanking them for their hard work, resilience and sacrifices they made at the front line during the battle against the deadly corona virus pandemic.

The concert will also feature a number of Ugandan artistes yet to be communicated. In as much as the dates are yet to be announced, Swangz Avenue insists that the concert will take place immediately the country is given a go ahead to hold shows.
