Yemi Alade To Perform In 'Global Goal: Unite for Our Future' Concert Alongside International Artists

Multiple award-winning Nigerian female artist Yemi Alade is among several international musicians who have been selected to perform in 'Global Goal: Unite for Our Future' Concert.

The concert scheduled for this weekend, June 27 has been jointly organized by Global Citizen and the European Commision.

It seeks to shine a light on how the global coronavirus pandemic has disproportionately impacted marginalized communities.

Confirming her participation in the concert that will air globally and streamed in several digital platforms, Yemi Alade famed for her hit single 'Johnny' said: "It’s time to fight for the world we want. So I’m joining #GlobalGoalUnite for Our Future, a concert hosted by @Glblctzn, premiering on June 27, that will shine a light on what we can do to create a healthier future for everyone, everywhere."


"#GlobalGoalUnite For Our Future aims to ensure that no one, especially in communities of color around the world, gets left behind in this pandemic," she added in another tweet.

Aside from Yemi Alade, other artists set to perform during the concert include; Miley Cyrus, Shakira, J Balvin, Justin Bieber and Quavo, Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, Usher, Christine and the Queens and Chloe x Halle.

The event will be hosted by Dwayne Johnson, famously known as The Rock.

Before the concert, there will be a summit that will also seek to encourage governments, the private sector and philanthropists to make commitments to more equally distribute COVID-19 tests and vaccines.

Yemi Alade is currently enjoying airplay across various Radio and TVs globally thanks to her recently released single 'Boyz'.

It follows the release of 'Shekere' video that has been also performing well as it recently clocked 10 million views on YouTube, within four months.
