Weekend Recap; Juneteenth Verzuz Battle, John Legend Vs Alicia Keys

An interview shaped the weekend that was for lovers of RnB music; with the Juneteenth Verzuz Battle being a battle between RnB royalty, John Legend and Alicia Keys. We take time to recap the weekend that was courtesy of these two.
Alicia Keys’ husband, Swizz Beatz is the co-founder of the now very popular Verzuz Battle and so he put together John and Alicia to start off the Juneteenth Weekend. John had been asked who he would want to battle with if he was asked to the Verzuz show and his answer was Alicia Keys.
To begin with, it is exciting to finally watch the organizers putting together a female and male artist battle it out; people have really been waiting for this.
Both Alicia and John have enjoyed longevity in the industry and rightfully so because they are both good writers and vocalists. They have been giving us music for the longest time; Alicia has been playing the piano since she is a child and John has been dishing out music with Kanye since he was in college. Fun fact, John Legend was involved in Lauryn Hill’s ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’.
The concert started out with a duet between John Legend and Alicia Keys of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song. They then went on to perform their classics and music from their newer projects; drawing musical energy from each other. The live had a lot of both John and Alicia playing vocal and piano harmonies for each other.
