Burna Boy, Rema, Wizkid Nominated For 2020 BET Awards

Three Nigerian artists have been nominated for this year's BET Awards.

Nominees for various categories were announced on Monday, June 15.

Burna Boy famed for his 2019 Grammy nominated album 'Africa Giant' will be battling other artists in the Best International Act Category among them South Africa's Sho Madjozi, Innoss B of Congo, Stormzy, Dave from the UK, Ninho, and S.Pri Noir from France.

Burna Boy won the category last year and will be seeking to make it a back-to-back win.

"Africa stand up!!! @burnaboy has been nominated in the BET BEST INTERNATIONAL ACT category," read part of a tweet by BET Africa.

The youthful Nigerian singer and rapper Rema also bagged a nomination for the Viewer's Choice: Best New International Act.

Rema will be battling French rapper Hatik, Celeste from Britain, Young T & Bugsey who are a British hip hop duo, Stacey and SHA SHA from Zimbabwe.

The 20-year-old singer in 2019 won Next Rated and was nominated for Viewer's Choice at the 13th edition of The Headies, in January 2020, he received the Souncity mvp for best new artist.

"Ravers let’s bring this home, VOTE NOW!," Rema tweeted.

Another Nigerian singer who was nominated for the BET Awards is Wizkid in the HER Award, thanks to his feature in Beyonce's 'Brown Skin Girl'.

This year's BET Awards will be held virtually on June 29 due to the Coronavirus pandemic
