Last week, fast-rising singer Crysto Panda released his much anticipated 'Kyoyina Omanya' remix featuring celebrated renowned Ugandan songstress Sheebah Karungi.

As we enjoy the new release, Crysto has opened up on the challenges he faced before securing a female artiste to feature in the remix.

In an exclusive interview with Spark TV, Crysto Panda claimed he first tried out artistes like Spice Diana and Cindy but they all turned his request down.

He got the idea to feature a female artiste from a radio presenter, and since he had never done a song with any female artistes, he thought it was a good idea.

"The first person that came to mind was Sheebah but being an upcoming artiste, I quickly rubbished the thought with fear of being rejected. He then put up a post asking his fans which female artiste would sit well on the remix. When they tagged Cindy, she came on the post and told me to try out Spice Diana. I tried calling her manager Rodger but he told me it was not possible due to the quarantine.

"It was then that I talked to Nessim because he was a friend to Sheebah. I gave him my idea and he bought it. They connected me to Jeff Kiiwa and he gave me a go ahead saying he loves my song. It is only Nessim that can tell you how happy I was when I got the news. I thought he was lying because getting Sheebah on your jam means the song is so good. I was surprised because this was the person I feared the most thinking she would turn me down,”he said.

Kalifah Aganaga penned down Sheebah's lyrics and she hit studio with Nessim to record her part.

"When Nessim gave me the song, I almost fainted. I want to thank Sheebah because she loves the song and she never disrespected my song. I thank her manager too, Jeff Kiiwa,'' Crysto Panda said.
