Billboard Reveals Kenyan Artiste with Most YouTube Views in the Last One Year

Popular American music platform recently released a report detailing top African musicians with the highest number of YouTube views in the past one year (May 2019 to May 2020).

According to the report, in Kenya, Otile Brown is the musician with the most views on YouTube over the past one year.

Billboard divulged that Otile Brown’s channel had over 27.88 million views in the past year, making him number one in Kenya, and third in East Africa after Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny.

Diamond leads in Tanzania and the entire East African region with over 53.94 million views in the past year.

In Nigeria, Naira Marley is most watched with 17.6 million views, with Shatta Wale reigning supreme in Ghana with 13.26 million views on the platform.

Billboard hailed Diamond terming his YouTube strategy as innovative, something that all musicians across the world can learn from.

The platform highlighted Diamond’s workaholic nature that has seen him publish at least 600 videos on his channel.

The videos include; music and behind the scenes segments, something other musicians can learn from.

Furthermore, Billboard focused on the consistency of sticking to local music as another reason behind his YouTube success.

The article comes at a time when Diamond has been recognized as the African musician with most views on YouTube at 980 million.
