Meet young Kenyan artiste who is compared to the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Tyga!!

My father would always tell me, “Son, you see that star up there? Its made of the same stuff that made you. You are also a star”.

I didn’t quite understand what he meant but it always brought me joy to think am a literal star. Eons later I would realize he was actually being literal, since we are all made of stardust.

Meet a budding Kenyan hip hop artist by the name Young Morgan who has come to realize this which is evident in his new song, “Stars Spell My Name”.

Often mistaken for American rappers Kendrick Lamar and Tyga, he is taking on the world a lyric after the other.

“I'm a Kenyan hip hop rapper, just turned 18 and "Stars Spell My name" was my debut track which i recorded on march 2014 at Fruits Records under Producer Soundtrick” stated the rapper.

“I am planning to do a video for the song very soon, it will be among the very  few Kenyan quality Video & I'm sure it would be a continental hit as most friends, fans & other mainstream artists keep telling me. I'm gonna change the course of Kenyan hip hop & make it appear in the world market, I believe I can do it” he added quite ecstatically

I will have to admit for a minute the song got me thinking it was done by an international artiste. The electric wordplay and addictive chorus with jumpy beats will have the song stuck in your mind after the very first listening.

Evidently his friends did not tell him a tall story because to be that young and so skilled is not widespread. We are all stars, what makes us different is how bright we choose to twinkle.

I could spend the whole day laying layers of words to describe the song but it would not equate to what the song really is. Have a listen to “Stars Spell My Name” by following the link below.
