HiPipo Music Awards Announces New Date for Gala Night

Following the government's directives of staying home and social distancing, the 9th edition of the prestigious HiPipo Music Awards will be held online.

The awards that were to be held on 16th March, 2020 at the Kampala Serena Hotel were postponed after the outbreak of the deadly corona virus that has seen concerts, shows and public gatherings cancelled.

According to communication from the organisers, the awards will be held on the 29th May, 2020 and will be streaming live on their YouTube and social media pages from 8pm.

Over the years, the HiPipo awards have garnered fans from all over Africa with categories form all over the continent.

The awards will be given virtually and winners of the 40 categories will be announced as decided by fans.

The event will have live performances from various artistes like Kenneth Mugabi, Sheebah Karungi, Roden Y Kabako, The Triplet Ghetto Kids, Kian Banks, Triple S and many others.

Music lovers have been advised to brace themselves as they recognize and appreciate the artistes that did an excellent job last year.

Eddy Kenzo leads the nomination list with 10 nods, followed by Sheebah, John Blaq, Spice Diana and Fik Fameica.

Big Tril’s hit single Parte after Parte is competing for Uganda Song of the Year, East Africa Super Hit and Africa Song of the Year.
