The Ugandan music industry is very competitive and challenging, you may be on top today, then be among the least favourite in no time. Most artistes try their best to remain relevant, and safeguard their position in the industry.

This high level of competition has since some artistes develop beefs among each other. Over the past few decades, we have witnessed some crazy beefs in Ugandan music industry.

This article explores some of the unforgettable beefs between a number of Ugandan musicians:

1. Bebe Cool Vs Jose Chameleone Vs Bobi Wine

Bebe Cool started his music career in 1997 while in Nairobi and was joined by Jose Chameleone under the Ogopa DJs record label. When they came back to Uganda, together with Bobi Wine, they became the big three artists running the music industry.

This was the beginning of endless fights among them, and created a feud that will forever be remembered in the history of Ugandan music. A couple of years back, Bebe Cool joined forces with Bobi Wine and they decided to beef Jose Chameleone. With this, they made songs against him. When these two fell out, Bebe Cool made up with Jose Chameleone before they fell out once again because Chameleone chose to attend Bobi Wine's wedding.

Chameleone remained friends with Bobi Wine and together they threw jabs at Bebe Cool. Bebe Cool, however, reached out to Jose Chameleone on his birthday with a cake marking their reunion after a very long time. His relationship with Bobi Wine remains strained.

2. Radio & Weasel Vs Jose Chameleone

The late Mowzey Radio and his partner Weasel were signed under Leone Island as backup singers. They, however, left in 2008 starting their own label dubbed Goodlyfe Crew. They used every opportunity of their career to bash their former mentor Jose Chameleone. Despite being Weasel's elder brother, Chameleone one time confessed that they weren't talking. According to him, Weasel's problem was thinking that he could do whatever he (Chameleone) did on his way up.

They, however, reunited and settled their differences. By the time Radio died in 2018, the three were very good friends.

3. Bebe Cool Vs Eddy Kenzo

For a long time, the two did not see eye to eye, and exchanged harsh words in the media. Bebe Cool always branded Eddy Kenzo an upcoming dancer, despite the latter having a successful music career. On his part, Kenzo claimed Bebe cool was not a good musician, as he did not write his own songs.

Thing got worse in 2017 when Bebe Cool failed to include Kenzo in his list of best artistes in 2017, despite the latter having won over three international awards that year. In 2019, the two decided to put their decided aside and build the Ugandan music industry.

4. Cindy Vs Sheebah and Vinka

Their beef began in 2019 when Cindy requested for a music battle with Sheebah Karungi. The request led to a war of words between them. Sheebah hit out at Cindy noting that she was yet to build a house, despite being in the industry for several years. Responding to Sheebah, Cindy accused her of being a CD artiste who could not perform on live band. She went on to call her a dummy who could not write her own music.

This rubbed Sheebah the wrong way and she ended up releasing a beef song titled 'Kimansulo Kumimwa' attacking Cindy. Sheebah had the support of fellow artiste Vinka. Cindy in return released CopiCat attacking both Sheebah and Vinka and in the video, she used dummies wearing their clothes. To date, the beef is still on.

5. Sheebah and Pallaso

Sheebah and Pallaso were some time back a hot duo signed under Jeff Kiiwa. They gave us fire collabos, 'Go Down Low' and 'Mundongo' that ruled airwaves.

It is not clear where and why they parted ways but the tension started upon their return from a show in Egypt. The two have released a number of songs mocking each other, with Sheebah terming Pallaso a small boy during a past interview. Pallaso has in the past tried to reach out to Sheebah, but his efforts have been futile.
