The corona virus outbreak has caused mass cancellations of mass gatherings, concerts, and festivals. Party lovers are stuck at home, missing clubs and night life.

However, some Ugandan artistes have remained determined to connect with fans through live music concerts.

Over the past few weeks, the likes of Bobi Wine, and different artists like Bobi Wine, Spice Diana, Jose Chameleone among others have registered massive success with their concerts.

Over the weekend, Ugandan gospel rapper Edwin Ruyonga joined the growing list, and entertained his fans  with the first ever online live gospel concert.

Quite different from the secular artistes, Ruyonga brought the church to our homes.

Ruyonga performed live in a show that streamed on his YouTube and Facebook accounts. His fans could not stop praising his rap skills and lyrical maturity.

In the 30-minute epic show, Ruyonga was able to freestyle, and also unveiled some new music to his fans.

This comes after a huge online debate was ignited by Ugandan musician Desire Lusinde on why churches’ failure to support gospel artistes in organising live concerts.

In her argument, she accused pastors and churches of failing to support artistes, especially in this tough time when they need to spread the message of hope across the country.
