We all get nostalgic over those early 2010’s rock music vibes with Carly Rae Jepsen and when XFM was still a thing in Kenya. These are he vibes that we are getting from Inna’s new single ‘Sober’.

‘Sober’ is a song written off of a very millennial relationship. This is in the sense that many relationships that start off in a club/bar may never make it to getting a date that is outside of drinks. You or your friends have gone through some relationships without a single moment of being sober. In this single, Inna is craving for a relationship that sits down at the couch to chill and to know the other person without any intoxicating thing involved.

The song, as mentioned earlier is laid on a pop rock beat. The feel good type of instrumentation that is quite nostalgic but very fun at the same time and you can hear every instrument come to play. Inna plays with some harmonies off of her voice and some echoing harmonies that are heard at different points of the song.

The video is shot at home; as are most videos at this time of corona. The video is really all of us with our drink at hand, practicing walking around in heels, pulling out the karaoke machine and experimenting on the different sitting positions that are humanly possible. It is a beautifully shot black and white piece of art.
