The music industry in Kenya is very dynamic. Each day, we get to hear a new song and watch a video that is probably better than our previous favorite one.

Kenya boasts of thousands of artistes who produce a new song every day, and the competition for the top spot is tough, as everyone works hard to produce high quality content.

It is very rare for a song to maintain the top spot for over week, as new videos are dropped almost daily.

Since everyone is on lock down and not allowed to go clubbing, we have rounded up the list of the top five songs that Kenyans are listening to and requesting for on both TV and radio stations.

Here are the top 5 trending music videos on YouTube Kenya:

1. Hao – Khaligraph featuring Masauti

The video has been trending at position one for almost two weeks now, and has so far managed to get over 1.6 million views.

‘HAO’ is all about condemning cyber bullying and has well-crafted lyrics.

2. Che Che  - Octopizzo featuring Barak Jacuzzi

‘Che Che’ is a feel good song and is currently trending at position 2 with over one million views in a period of one week.

It is Octopizzo’s second song this year.

3. Thaithai Ngai- Wanjiku Muigai and Muigai Njoroge

This is the only vernacular song in the top five list. The production is high quality, and the beat is on point.

In as much as you may not understand the lyrics, you can still dance to the song thanks to the amazing beats.

Two weeks after it was released, the video has over 300,000 views and is currently trending at position 3.

4. Peddi – Bensoul

Bensoul is undoubtedly a talented singer and song writer, with the same showcased in his latest release ‘Peddi’.

The song has a feel good vibe, and encourages fans to have a good time even while on lock down.

5. Sukuma Ndinga Remix – Rosa Ree and Rayvanny

Out of the top five music videos, this is the only international vide that made the cut, proving that Rayvanny has a huge following in Kenya.

‘Sukuma Ndinga Remix’ is a feel good song that would have been jammed to in most clubs if it were not for the current ban.
