Earlier this week, Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni extended the country’s lock down for 14 more days, meaning most people will be unable to go back to work, and therefore rely on donations from well-wishers and the government.

In view of the above, a section of music lovers have been piling pressure on artistes yet to be pictured donating food, to do the same.

Among the many artistes who are yet to be pictured by the media donating food and other supplies to the COVID-19 task force are the Mayanja brothers (Jose Chameleone, Pallaso and Weasel).

Reacting to the calls for them to donate food, the Mayanja brothers noted that the fact that they have not been pictured donating food does not mean that they have not done it at all.

Pallaso noted that as brothers and the greater Mayanja family, they have reached out to many, but do not publicise the same.

"We have done so many charities. You, in fact, abused us when we joined the Bryan White Foundation. Donating is out of good will and you decide if you want to be put in the cameras or not. Besides, you can't feed the whole country but when you give someone closest to you, you have contributed in fighting hunger.

"We have reached out to many people behind closed doors but we do not publicize it. But those people asking should bring a book for me to sign every time I make a donation for you to know when I give,” Pallaso said.

On his part, Jose Chameleone noted that the same people begging for his donations are the same that call him broke.

"You are the same people going out to the media reporting that I'm broke and I sold my house. You keep saying that for the years I've been in music, I have nothing to show for it. So If i'm broke why are you then forcing me to donate food?" Chameleone posed.

Chameleone who will be running for Lord Mayor in 2021, however, told his ardent supporters that he will soon make his donation to the task force.

"My friends and those who have religiously supported me, I have an arrangement on the way and the country will see it. I will donate but not under pressure,” he divulged.
