Swangz Avenue's boss Benon Mugumbya has started an online funds drive to help raise money to facilitate Eddy Kenzo who is currently stranded in Ivory Coast.

The Big Talent boss had traveled for a concert and before he could come back, he was locked out of the country, when President Yoweri Museveni ordered a total shutdown of the Entebbe International Airport and all borders both on land and in the air, in response to containing the spread of the Corona virus.

Photos of the bedridden singer circulated in March and in a post, Eddy Kenzo revealed that he was diagnosed with chronic ulcers because of the foreign food cooked with too much chili.

He later revealed that he wants to come back home because the standards of living are high.

Benon, also fellow hit maker, reached out to his fans on social media, an d urged them to contribute something small to help Kenzo take care of himself during his stay in the foreign land.

''Kenzo has been on my mind lately, we can easily downplay his situation on the assumption that he has it all so he should be fine, but what if he is not? What if he needs us? I am just thinking, how about you (the person reading this) and I contribute to his upkeep while in Ivory Coast? I am sure it will help a great deal. I do not know if I'm over stepping but I'm concerned,'' Benon said.

One well-wisher has already sent in an amount of 50K to help support the initiative.
