Irene Ntale, Ykee Benda Advocate for Increased Pay for TV Presenters

Over the past few days, Ugandans on social media have been engaged in a debate ignited by former TV presenter and events MC Sheilah Gashumba, on increased pay for TV presenters.
Sheilah on Sunday morning flooded Twitter with rants, accusing her former employees NTV Uganda of underpaying their workers.
In a series of tweets, the award winning fashion star revealed that the station does not value the energy the workers put in, claiming that NTV Uganda pay its employee’s peanuts.
Although many people attacked Sheilah for publicly shaming the popular station, Ykee Benda and former Swangz Avenue diva Irene Ntale urged the popular station and other media outlets to look into the issue.
"Sheila Gashumba, I agree with you! TV Stations/Radio ought to look into this. DJs and presenters are professionals deserving of proper pay. They shouldn’t have to rely on “handouts” from whoever is pushing projects." Irene said.

She also supported the fact that Sheilah put the information out there, because then, presenters would learn how to value themselves.
On his part, Ykee Benda had nothing but support for Sheilah.
"One of the smartest and outright straightforward people I have met since I been in this industry @SheilahGashumba. Nothing but love and respect for you sis," Ykee posted.
