April has been a busy month for musicians in Nigeria. It has been a month that we have seen many songs, audios, and videos, released despite the effects of Coronavirus which has confirmed people indoors.

Apart from singles like ‘Duduke’ by Simi, Burna Boy working with Buju in ‘Lenu Remix’, Kcee dropping two reggae hits, and Tekno unveiling Kata among others, it has been a month that Extended Plays (EPs) were also released.

Here is a look at five EPs released in April that you need to listen to, in case you have not;

The Quarantine Playlist EP

In this EP, award-winning singer Teni teamed up with popular disk jockey DJ Neptune to serve you with four songs that would brighten up your quarantine.

The EP was officially released on April 9 and contains Morning, Isolate, Lockdown and Mine tracks which I can guarantee are worth your time.

Geng (The Remix EP)

Afro-pop singer Mayorkun delivered this body of work that saw him team up with the finest Nigerian, African, and international singers.

The three-song EP is creatively created and sees the Davido Music Worldwide ( DMW) singer do three different remixes for his hit single Geng.

In the first remix titled ‘Geng Naija Remix’ Mayorkun enlists Rappers Ycee , M.I Abaga , Vector and Sinzu . The second remix ‘ Geng Africa Remix’ brings together Tanzania’s Rayvanny , Innos B from Congo, Riky Rick and Ghana’s Kwes Arthur .

The third song in the EP is ‘ Geng UK Remix’ where Mayorkun joins forces with rappers MS Banks and Russ.

The Live Report

This is a 9-track EP that was put together by Nigerian rapper M.I Abaga .

The EP that features another rapper A-Q was c reated with the help of Big Dadd y.

I can guarantee you that all the songs in the EP are perfect to kill boredom when you listen to them .

The songs are; Tone of the Conversation, The Live Report, Jesus said Use your Head, Club Yourself, When I’m Gone and Braveheart .

3 The EP

This is a unique EP by talented singer and songwriter Peruzzi singed to Davido’s DMW record label. The EP is unique in that it contains three songs, all worked on by three different producers.

The EP also features British singer Not3s and contains tracks, all afrobeats , namely; ‘D Side’ Produced by VStix , ‘Show Working’ Produced by Lusssh and ‘Reason’ featuring British singer Not3s produced by Speroach Beatz.

Codename Volume 2

This is by far the most popular EP of the month. It was released by rapper Dremo and contains a total of 12 songs.

Dremo, signed to DMW, features several popular Nigerian singers in the EP among them Davido, Peruzzi and Naira Marley.

Despite the EP being released hurriedly after it was leaked, it has so far performed extremely well.

Some of the outstanding songs off the EP include ‘Mabel’ in which Dremo featured Davido, ‘STFU’, ‘Pepper’ and ‘Konjinaba’ featuring Naira Marley.

As we usher in the new month of May, we should definitely expect more hits, more EPs and hopefully some albums as well.
