Kanyeria talks about ‘The Franco Cypher’ and his target

Kenyan music scene keeps getting stiffer as artists and producers continue to give fans new and diverse music sounds.
By now you should have heard of the new cypher; ‘The Franco Cypher’ dedicated to Congolese music legend Franco.
It features fast rising rappers including Kristoff, Khaligraph, Pro, RD, K-Duece and Kenyan music producer Kanyeria who engineered it.
We spoke to him yesterday on how he came up with this amazing piece and Kanyeria seemed excited about the whole idea and its execution.
“It was more of a personal choice. I like how all these artists sound and I just wanted them on this track because I knew they would deliver exactly how I wanted it,” he told Mdundo.
The song is getting a good hiphop fan’s reception across the country even making it to #1 downloaded song on Mdundo’s Wednesday TOP10 chart! This is what Kanyeria was looking forward to.
“What I wanted with this song is when young people listen to it they would develop the urge to find out who Franco is as a music legend in Africa. The lyrics don’t speak about Franco but the verse that I did acknowledges him. It’s a jam that will make people feel happy, a feel good song,” he added.
