We are already past the first quarter of 2020 and so many things have happened across the globe.

We might all be feeling the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, from music shows and tours that have been canceled or postponed indefinitely, which we all miss, to people confined indoors, but then, there are some good videos musicians have dropped that would help ease the situation watching them.

Here we have a look at five popular music videos released by Nigerian artists this year;

Odogwu

Nigeria Grammy nominee Burna Boy released this video on March 16, 2020.

Within just about a month, the ‘Odogwu’ video has attracted 2.7 million views on YouTube and it rightfully fits as one of the most popular videos so far.

The video showcases the rich Igbo culture and it is worth your time.

Nobody

‘Nobody’ is a joint effort by DJ Neptune, Joe Boy and Mr. Eazi.

The video was officially released about a month ago and has so far had 3.4 million views on YouTube.

It is only recently that the trio was celebrating the video surpassing 12 million streams across all the music streaming platforms.

Take It

The video by Nigerian singer Rude Boy premiered on February 11, 2020. It has so far recorded 3.5 million views on YouTube within about two months.

Rude Boy also known as King Rudy was formerly under the group P-Square with his identical twin brother Peter Okoye.

Beamer

Posted on YouTube on February 24, 2020, Beamer by young Nigerian superstar Rema featuring Jamaican hitmaker Rvssian has so far attracted 3.8 million views on YouTube.

In the video, Rema, often compared to Wizkid and Davido who are arguably the most popular artists in Nigeria plays ‘bad boy’.

Shekere

This is arguably the most popular video released in 2020 so far.

‘Shekere, by songstress Yemi Alade featuring Angelique Kidjo premiered on February 5, 2020, and has so far attracted over 6.5 million views on YouTube.

‘Shekere’ is part of Yemi Alade’s recent album dubbed ‘Woman of Steel’ that was officially released on August 30, 2019, through Effyzzie Music Group and Universal Music Africa.
