Drake released his new single ‘Toosie Slide’ a week back and as predicted, it became a major hit on everyone’s new favourite app Tik-Tok. Everyone has been ‘left foot up, right foot, slide’ by themselves and/or with those they are in quarantine with.

This has paid off because it has given Drake a historic debut on the Billboard Hot 100. The single has debuted at number 1 kicking out The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights. This makes Drake the first male artist to have three consecutive overall number 1 debut singles and only the second artist after Mariah Carey who had number 1s for ‘One Sweet Day’ and ‘Fantasy’ in 1995 and ‘Honey’ in 1997.

In 2018, Drake enjoyed number 1 with ‘God’s Plan’ and ‘Nice For What’. At this point, Drake has 50 number 1s. This puts him behind Mariah Carey, Rihanna and the Beatles who have more number 1s than him. He scored his first number one with Rihanna in 2010 for their hit single ‘What’s My Name’. Drake also has 37 top 10 hits just one short of Madonna’s record of 38 top 10 hits.

I am not sure what challenges you are jumping on over this quarantine period but the Toosie Slide is definitely a good one. Catch a groovy vibe with Drake on ‘Toosie Slide’.
