Veteran Ugandan singer Joseph Mayanja commonly known as Jose Chameleone has been trending in the media for all the wrong reasons.

In a video doing rounds on social media, Jose Chameleone is seen clashing with the Uganda Revenue Authority over taxes for his new Toyota Land cruiser V8.

The singer on Sunday 13th April 2020 was driving to Bulange Mengo where he was slated to perform on a BBS Telefayina Live TV show when he was stopped by the officials.

In the video, the officials are heard asking Chameleone to produce the documents showing his car’s registration but he was not ready to comply with their orders.

In a husky voice, Jose Chameleone tries to explain that he did not move with the registration documents in his car.

The officer ordered him to go back and pick them from home and it was at this point that Jose Chameleone lost it.

The Leone Island boss then asks why URA always targets him and demanded to know why they wanted to impound his car to stop his movement on a public holiday.

"You cannot come to me on a public holiday and start bringing your nonsense. We are fed up, we are tired! Today is a public holiday, Easter, Jesus is risen today. When does URA rest?" Jose Chameleone said.

He was later left to proceed to BBS TV for his performance.
