Tanzanian music duo Nego has absolved Harmonize of any blame following a copyright controversy between the two parties.

Earlier, the ‘Matatizo’ hitmaker was accused of using a beat from the song ‘Kibanio’ by the music duo, without seeking their consent, hence violation of copyright.

The beat was sampled on the singer’s ‘Afro East’ album song ‘I miss you’.

Speaking on Thursday, the grou, however, clarified that producer Blackbeat was allegedly the one to blame for sampling the beat without getting their consent.

According to the duo, the producer also worked on their ‘Kibanio’ song.

They stated that Harmonize should not be blamed for the situation, adding that the producer might have used the beat due to their unpopularity.

“Harmonize is not to blame for the mix up…,” said the group.

In the past Harmonize has been accused of using beats without authorization.  A notable incident was with Kenyan producer Magix Enga on the song ‘Uno’.

However, the issue was resolved and the two buried the hatchet to promote East African Music.

Harmozoine is currently riding high with his ‘Afro East’ album that features top acts like Morgan Heritage, Burna Boy, and Khaligraph Jones.

He is scheduled to have a live online concert later today, where he will perform top songs from his Afro-East Album.
