COVID-19: Sista Afia Cancels Italy Tour

COVID-19, the pandemic which has plagued the world has for Ghanaian musician Sista Afia to cancel her tour in Italy.

The musician has subsequently scheduled her event for June. This comes after, Italy, which is now the epicenter of the outbreak in Europe, was put on lockdown when they recorded increasing cases of Coronavirus.

Italy now has about 92,472 confirmed cases.

Manager of Sista Afia, Mr. Emmanuel Arhin, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said that their decision was mainly based on their observation of what is going on in Italy.
He stated that the concert which was scheduled to take place in June will be rescheduled and tickets, in the meantime will be refunded.

“We have been monitoring the situation in Italy and we thought it wise to cancel our forthcoming show scheduled to take place in June, Modena. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

“Anyone who has purchased the tickets would have a refund and when we do come out with a new date it would be announced,” he stated.

Sista Afia is part of the numerous Ghanaian artistes who have announced the cancellation of their concerts and tours after the Coronavirus was labeled a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.

Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, Nigerian artiste Davido, 3Music Networks and many other institutions have canceled events to help control the spread of the virus.
