As the world grapples with the corona virus pandemic, many musicians have cancelled their shows and concerts across the World.
As a way of ensuring fans are entertained while in quarantine, Nigeria’s Sound City has created a virtual concert that will be live streamed on Instagram later today.
Soe of the top names set to grace the concert include Wasafi’s; Rayvanny and Mbosso, together with Konge Gang’s Harmonize.
“Yooh what’s good fam!!!I’ll be perfoming today for the #soundcityvirtualconcert.Which song would you like to hear from me?” Rayvanny posted on Instagram.
Unlike Rayvanny, Harmonize and Mbosso are yet to confirm whether they will indeed be performing.
Sound City began the live Instagram concert on 26 March, 2020, and the same is set to run up to March 30.
The organisers noted that the concert is aimed at entertaining fans even as they stay at home due to the corona virus pandemic.
Instagram live concerts have become the new entertainment trend, following directives by several government banning public gatherings.
In Kenya, Sauti Sol held one concert last week, and was set to hold another one this weekend, but cancelled due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.
