Celebrated Kenyan boy-band Sauti Sol has canceled a YouTube live concert that was scheduled to take place this coming Saturday.

The group had announced that it would have a YouTube live concert to entertain fans even as they stay at home.

The concert was also aimed at being a consolation for their cancelled UK Tour that was meant to happen on the same date.

However, in a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Sauti Sol noted that the concert has been postponed due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.

“Following the cancellation of our UK tour date at Jazz cafe on 28th, we were optimistic that we could stream to you a live concert on YouTube to make up for the disappointment. Unfortunately, with the rising cases of COVID-19, we must cancel the YouTube concert scheduled for this Saturday March 28,” the group said.

The news came as disappointment to a section of fans who were already psyched up for the concert.

Meanwhile, the group last weekend entertained fans to a 60-minuted live Instagram concert where they played their top hits.

Following the concert, Sauti Sol became a trending topic in the country.

Several other artistes are coping from the same and have lined up Instagram concerts for their fans during this quarantine period.
