Black people in America hold their own fights because it has always been important for them to stick together since time immemorial. The narrative keeps changing depending on time and circumstance and this is what Iman is speaking on in his new song ‘Hello’.

‘Hello’ is a song for the black community in America building on the times of Malcolm and contextualizing it to the right now circumstances for the black people.

Iman speaks on black people breaking the glass ceilings set to delay their success, black people working to own property and communities by the blacks, for the blacks and of the blacks and black people standing up and protecting their own.

Iman also directs as the director of the video and just as his wife, Teyana Taylor, the execution is meticulous. From the very first scene, Iman takes to using marches to interpret his audio into video. He begins with Malcolm X, who he references at many instances of the song. He has his own block that is owned by the black people and they march to even achieve more and to protect their block. They also stay vigilante enough to protect the women in the community and to reduce the black on black violence.

Iman is definitely continuing the conversation with this kind of artivism and going by what he has been serving us, he is just about to blow up. Catch a vibe with him on ‘Hello’.
