Ugandan Musicians Come Together on Bebe Cool's Upcoming Song 'Corona Distance'

Last week, Uganda confirmed its first corona virus case, and ever since sensitization on the deadly virus has been on an all-time high.

The government, civil society, musicians and private entities have launched several campaigns aimed at educating locals on preventive measures, and how to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

On Tuesday, several Ugandan musicians joined Bebe Cool and worked on the upcoming song dubbed ‘Corona Distance’, urging people to keep a safe distance, and follow regulations by the Ministry of Health.

‘Corona Distance’ targets people in remote areas and has been crafted in a simple way to enable them understand the message, and importance of adhering to the regulations.

The song has brought together a number of artistes including; A Pass, Fresh Kid, Fresh Daddy, Bebe Cool, John Blaq, Vinka, Azawi, 14k Bwongo, Lady Akira among others.

"Wash your hands with soap, cover your mouth regularly when you cough, use sanitizers..." the song’s lyrics read in part.

The song is still in production stage and is expected to be released anytime soon.

Over the past few weeks, several musicians across the globe have produced songs on the corona virus to help with sensitization.

In Kenya, the Ministry of Sports partnered with several artistes including; Masauti and Guardian Angel to produce hits on the subject.

In Tanzania, Rayvanny, Lava Lava, P Mawenge and other musicians have taken lead by composing songs on the global pandemic.
