Nigerian superstar Yemi Alade’s latest video ‘Shekere’ has hit the 5 million mark on YouTube.
The video premiered on Feb 5, 2020.

‘Shekere’ that features Angélique Kidjo, a Beninese singer-songwriter, actress, and activist of Nigerian descent is one of the 15 songs contained in the ‘Woman of Steel’ album that Yemi Alade released on August 30, 2019.

The video is the most popular of all the songs contained in the album, Yemi Alade’s fourth. The singer has been posting on social media various videos done by his fans under the hashtag ‘ShekereDance’, and this could be probably one of the reasons why it is doing well.

Yemi Alade took to Instagram to celebrate the new achievement, crediting all to her fans.

She also took the opportunity to remind people of the need to stay at home due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

He posted; “Congratulations #yemialadearmy #5millionviews on #Shekere - @yemialade n @angeliquekidjo Keep streaming, sharing and watching
Wash your hands and stay at home.”

‘Shekere’ is directed by Ovie Etseyatse assisted by Taiye Aliyu and the video has a pure Nigeria touch from the video to the beats used.

Of all the songs done by Yemi Alade, the video is one of the best performing alongside ‘Sista’ which has 12 million views in which she was featured by Charlotte Dipanda and ‘Harmonize’ which she was featured by Krizbeats that has 8.1 million views so far.
