Sanitize!! Yemi Alade Tells Fans amid Coronavirus ‘Panic’

Popular Nigerian Afro-pop singer Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly known as Yemi Alade has come out to ask her fans across the globe to take precautionary measures and help curb the spread of Coronavirus.

In a post on her social media pages alongside a short video, Yemi Alade famed for her hit single ‘Johnny’ stresses on the need for everyone to sanitize their hands.

Medics have said sanitizing and hand washing is one of the sure ways to keep the Coronavirus at bay.

“I Come in Peace ooo…keep sanitizing sha. There is too much panic and not enough awareness, I just want you all to stay healthy and sanitize as Often as possible.” Reads part of Yemi Alade’s Facebook post.

The singer, in the short video, is also seen drinking water in a glass while humorously saying ‘Coronavirus’ and goes ahead to thank the media for taking the lead in sensitizing the public about the virus that has since been declared a pandemic.

At some point, she points out how military tankers are all over London in the United Kingdom even though part of her post reads “Correction, tankers at the border in the UK, not o the roads o)

Towards the end of the video Yemi Alade says, “I beg drink water, stay healthy, sanitize” as the video ends with part of the beats to her latest song ‘Shekere’ which she did together with Angelique Kidjo.

The ‘Shekere’ video premiered on YouTube on February 5, 2020, and has so far garnered 4.7 million views.
