Jah9 and Chronixx could not have picked a better time to release their new single ‘Note to Self (Okay)’ off of the album with the same title.
‘Okay’ is a self-motivating, pick-me up song. Jah9 opens up the song with a soft voice in a very melodic progression. Chronixx picks up from her on the same note. They both highlight the wrongs of the world but still remember to believe that they will be okay.
The video, shot straight out of a movie with perfect stills, monochromatic and earthy looks both Jah9 and Chronnixx. They both take on the observant angle in the video and their main video vixen goes through it all with people encouraging her and taking her through the different phases of making it through.
The video is a lot of tears and even more dancing and this is a beautiful translation of the audio into the video. There is a lot of synchronicity and flow from everyone in the video and scene to scene, respectively.
This song could not be more timely with the global pandemic going on and I bet we need all the affirmations in this song. Catch a vibe with Chronixx and Jah9 on ‘Note to Self (Okay)’.
