Who is Rema?
Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, is a Nigerian singer, song writer and model. He was born in the year 2000, in Southern Nigeria, and is currently among the most followed musicians in the country. Rema was brought up in a Christian family, and began his music journey in church, and school; where he engaged in rap/singing competitions.
Rema Music Career
Rema started singing at a tender age back in Secondary school. While still in school, Rema formed his live band which propelled him to greater heights catching the eye of D’Prince who later signed him to his record label Jonzingwang records. Being a brother to Nigerian Billionaire music producer Don Jazzy, D’Prince introduced Rema to Jazzy; a move that saw Rema sign for Marvin records in 2018.
After signing the two deals, Rema proceeded to drop major hits that made him a force to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry. His major breakthrough came in 2019 after he dropped his first eponymous debut EP dubbed ‘Rema’. The album did so well and peaked at position one on Apple Music Nigeria. In August 2019, his song 'Iron Man' featured in former US President Barrack Obama's summer playlist.
Slightly over a year after he debuted, Rema has three albums namely; Rema, Rema Freestyle and Bad Commando; a testimony to his hard work and determination to cconquer the Nigerian music industry. In an interview in 2019, D’Prince noted that he listened to Rema once and knew that he was a sensation. “When I first heard Rema’s work, I knew this was an artist I wanted the entire world to listen to. His talent and artistry are so far beyond his years,” he said as quoted by Austine Media.
D’Prince’s sentiments were echoed by his brother Don Jazzy who noted that: “Rema is a formidable young artist. With his skill and versatility, he has a unique place in the future of afrobeats,” he said as quoted by the same publication.

Rema has won a number of prestigious awards including; 2020 Soundcity MVP for Best New Artist, and the 2019 Headies Award for Next Rated. Being one-year-old in the industry, this is outstanding performance.
Rema’s Girlfriend
Very limited information is available on Rema’s relationship status. According to a story done by popng.com in May 2019, there were claims that Rema was dating Diana Eneje; a video vixen in his song ‘Dumebi’.
Rema’s Net Worth
It is not clear how much Rema is worth as at now. However, a story done by Austine Media in April 2019 claimed Rema was worth $500,000 and was among the most rich and influential musicians in Nigeria.
