TANZANIA: Ali Kiba Reveals His Real Name For The First Time

Tanzania music sensation Alikiba has for the first time disclosed his real name.

The singer who spoke on East Africa Radio’s Planet Bongo programme revealed that his real name is Ali Saleh Gentamilan, but people have always taken Alikiba to be his real name.

He disclosed that Alikiba was just a nickname given to him by his mother’s friends before he was born.

The father of four went ahead and said that when his mother was pregnant her relatives and close friends used to make fan of her calling her ‘Mama vibanio’ because they liked to tighten her clothes with clips and when he was born, they also called him the name ‘Kiba’.

“Kiba ni jina langu mimi tena la utani, wakati mama yamgu alipokuwa na ujauzito wangu, sasa wale mawifi zake, marafiki walikuwa wanambana nguo kwa vibanio wakawa wanamtania mama kibanio, mpaka nilipozaliwa wakawa naniita kibanio, ndio lilipozaliwa la 'Kiba', jina langu halisi mimi ni Ali Saleh Gentamilan", said the seduce me hit maker.

This comes even as the name ‘Kiba’ has grown to become one of his family’s favorite names and has seen his siblings and also his children using the name Kiba.

Alikiba’s younger brother who is also a singer uses the name Abdu Kiba, his sister also uses the name Zabibu Kiba.
