Exciting developments are happening in the industry, and I really see things shaping up in terms of social responsibility by artists.
In order to highlight the growing need for concern and awareness about Autism in the country, a number of artists led by P-Unit’s Frasha have come up with an event dubbed ‘Autism Awareness Concert’ as a voice of people affected.
The event will take place on 12th on Saturday this month at Uhuru Park and will involve a 15km walk from Machakos town to Machakos-Mombasa Road junction.
According to Frasha, who has been involved in Autism awareness projects in the country for the past one year, the main aim of the event is to get the government allocate funds for autism units in public schools.
“A special concert event will take place this coming Saturday to raise awareness on autism and get the government involved and establish autism units in public schools to make learning better for kids on the autism spectrum or a related disorder,” he told Mdundo today.
Artists and other industry faces who will be involved include P-Unit, Grandpa Records, Jaguar, Kenzo, Avril, Gospel artist Hayze, Lady Bee, SOC, dj’s Joe Mfalme, Exclusive and Juan.
Autism is one of the fastest growing disabilities in the world. It affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills.
Frasha has been actively involved in the awareness and is calling for more persons and corporates to join hands.
