This new artist in Kenya, African Supaman’s new single; The Weatherman has all Kenyan Youths on their A game.

Charles “African Supaman” Kibira is an indie artist from Nanyuki Kenya. Composing mainly Afropop he has stepped in the game with a fierce attitude singing about the problems faced by Kenyans today. Conversing mainly with youths, The Weatherman is a call to action for all to speak up and stand up for what’s right. African Supaman takes his western influence and mixes it with his Kenyan roots to create magnificent melodies and beats that are in their own way very unique.

African Supaman was born on September 4, 1992 in Nanyuki Kenya. He spent his early years in Kenya. Later in 2003, he and his family moved to America up until 2011.
He moved to Kenya in 2011 and kick started his singing career with Chilli Inc. studio in Nairobi under producer Totti. He never released any of his work because he felt it wasn’t good enough. He there after met up with producer Antony Tjay at Jamus Media Nanyuki where he dropped his first mixtape locally.

In 2016, Charles decided to visit and live with his role model PiliPili to try and jump start his career again. During his visit, Charles met and was greatly inspired by producer Bigsoul254. He worked with Bigsould254 at B’ware Studio in Nanyuki, where he finished his EP album; African Supaman, the same year in November which he still hasn’t released yet.

Currently, the African Supaman’s journey has just began and he’s in the process of promoting his EP album. To help in promotion, he and his music collaboration Nabil Folan have been making covers and mashups for the social media and radio/TV tours. African Supaman’s mission is aimed towards youths.

“Young adults today in Kenya and Africa in general seem to be stuck in one direction. That is finish school, graduate and seek employment. But there’s another side to us which many don’t tap into. This is mainly due to the cultural influence and beliefs here. In my songs, I have portrayed to the youth that it’s okay to chase one’s dreams and be an influential person. In the rhythm and instrumentation of my songs, I’ve included my American influence to help capture the international youth too. This is a technique to assist me with collaborations with international artists thus helping me prove to my fellow Kenyan youths that anything is possible as long as we put our minds to it and persist in it. No matter the struggles faced, negativity setbacks of peer influence and the world beyond, there’s always light at the end tunnel.” African Supaman

“Wow, l just watched the Weatherman on YouTube...l am buzzing with pure joy! It's definitely right up there as possibly your best work to date. “Have a listen to African Supaman’s music. He’s so talented and makes a good socio-commentator.” - Jacky, Kenya law

"He’s good. God, it’’s all so sophisticated now. It’s a good idea to take the weather forecast and use it like that. And coincidentally so apposite for what’s happening in east Africa now. I wish him well." - Jeremy Paxman, British broadcaster, journalist and author
