NEW MUSIC (KENYA): Kenyan Artiste Qritiqal Drops New Hit With Nigerian Big Wig Ckay

After listening to a couple of African hits, I can proudly say that our artistes around here ain’t playing! Among these artistes are our very own Kenyan artiste Qritiqal and the multi-talented Nigerian artiste Ckay. They recently released the audio to their new collabo dubbed “Hallo” and trust me, you’ll agree with me after you listen to it.

Both artistes are signed to the Nigerian Chocolate City recording label, although Qritical is mainly tied to the Kenyan arm of the company.

Real name Eric Onyango Omollo, Qritical’s vision is to take music internationally, and with his kind of  prowess and unique ability to fuse dancehall, reggae, soul and RnB music, I’m pretty sure that won’t be problem for him.

Among his most popular tracks include Weak Inside which was his first song, Kupe featuring Mustapha,  Won’t Tell and Malkia, a melodies track that took the airwaves by storm. He describes his style as a mixture of everything with a little bit of Swahili influence.

In as much as he is quite fresh to the game, he has already shared a stage with Kenyan A-listers like Sauti Sol and Jaguar.

The multi-talented artiste, producer and songwriter Ckay also signed a recording contract with Chocolate City just days after Qritical did.

Ckay is quite a busy act, especially with his  Photocopy Music series where he drops covers of popping songs within and outside Nigeria.

He has production credits to Give them by Koker, Ice Prince’s Chike featuring Korede Bello as well as Oritsefemi and Skales’ Zangarewa. He also has both production and co-production credit on “TICBN Vol 1” and “Illegal Music 3”.

Some of the songs off the Photocopy Series include ‘UPnDOWN In The DM’ featuring Loose Kaynon and Kheengz, ‘Mosquito’ a cover of Travis Scott’s ‘Antidote’ and Drake’s ‘One dance’ featuring label boss, M.I and Instagram comedy phenomenon Akanm D Boy.

Apart from his solo hits Nkechi and Gaddemmit featuring Dremothe hit-making producer turned fresh faced crooner has also dropped cover  songs outside the series including Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry‘, Dbanj’s ‘Fall in love’ featuring Ruby Gyang, ‘Bad musician Bad producer’ among others.

The new collabo between the Kenyan and Nigerian label mates is all you can imagine and more. Hello is a tune for the young, wavy and definitely for the summer season. It was produced by Ckay and mastered by Gplus.
