"Artists should create unique Kenyan sound for their songs" states Kidis

Skilled Grandpa Records artist Kidis has urged local musicians to work together and come up with a style of music that will uniquely identify Kenyan music to the international audience.

“In Kenya we lack our own style of music; most artists usually copy the likes of Ne-yo and Chris brown who are Americans. Personally I have tried so hard to come up with my own unique style of music that makes me different from the others, that’s why I stick to Swahili in all my songs,” he stated during an interview with a local radio station.

The “Kamua Leo” hit maker also advised young upcoming artists not to lose hope with their music careers and set standards for themselves to avoid being exploited.

“In 2002 I was just like any other upcoming artist bet hard work has made me who I am, do not give up with your music, have a long time goal and do not just accept any offers that come your way because you are an upcoming act,” he added

Kidis is currently riding high with his new song “Full Shangwe” that has been receiving massive airplay since it was released a week ago.
