Jua Cali features young underground artists on Kuna Sheng Remix
16 September 2013
Arguably the king of Genge music or otherwise Baba Yao, Jua Cali will this week be working on Kuna Sheng video remix to be released soon.
According to Jua Cali’s manager Thomas Mahondo, the remix will feature relatively underground artists who will each be representing their hoods. He says the song will give them a platform to make a break through into the mainstream industry.
“Sheng language unites people as they communicate without the usual barriers and prejudices that follow mother tongues and official languages. That way people from different backgrounds come together,” says Thomas.
Some of the artists to be featured in the remix include Prime MC from Umoja, Manchu from Jericho, Virus from Kibera, Vioxxi from Ngara and Konkodi from Huruma.
The video will be shot in the various neighborhoods around the city.
