Who is Terry G?

Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was born in Benue Nigeria on March 17, 1986, but spent a better part of his childhood in Lagos State. The firstborn in a family of four was raised in a strict Christian environment. His interest and passion for music manifested while serving as a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God choir.

Music runs in the family as two of the youngster’s siblings have also earned their rightfully deserved spot at the high table of the Nigerian music industry. Gabriel’s brother Daniel Eche Amanyi alias Drizzle D’money is a recording artist who is famous for his works in the R&B genre. His sister Glowries is also a popular Nigerian gospel singer.

Terry G made his debut in the music industry as a gospel musician but later on transitioned into secular. His activities on YouTube date to 2011, when he published some of his first songs including; ‘One Love’, ‘Free Madness’, ‘Let It Go’, and ‘Troway’ among others. His debut into the industry was met with a warm reception among the fans. Over the years, Terry G grew gradually but steadily to become one of the best Nigerian artists in the African music genres.
